It was a final which delivered everything it promised, with some scintillating tennis, and its outcome proves that Sinner can beat Alcaraz in the biggest of matches and grandest of stages.

Sinner came from a set down to win a four-set thriller 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

19:42 CET - This final continues to deliver the highest quality tennis, and Jannik Sinner is delivering his very best in his maiden Wimbledon final to take a two-set-to-one lead.

Carlos Alcaraz is struggling to get his first serves in at the moment after remaining below 50% of first serves in for the majority of the third set.

Sinner is just a set away from ending his nightmare run against Alcaraz and becoming a Wimbledon champion.

18:55 CET - It is Jannik Sinner's turn to win set point spectacularly this time! The Italian levels this gripping final one set a piece 6-4 after finding top form in the second set and beating Carlos Alcaraz at his own game.

Just incredible from the world number one.

16:55 CET - The anticipation is building as the start of the 2025 men's Wimbledon final closes in...

16:33 CET - Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens have won a thrilling women's doubles final!

The duo defeated the fourth seeds of Su-Wei Hsieh and Jelena Ostapenko 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 as they showed great mental strength to come from a set down to win.

Despite Mertens and Ostapenko being big names on the WTA tour, it was Kudermetova's incredible anticipation at the net which was the difference in the deciding set. Some way to help deliver your first major title.

16:05 CET - We are around an hour away from the showpiece event, and what a match it promises to be.

Sinner and Alcaraz have taken over men's tennis and are here to stay, but you feel in the context of their ever-developing rivalry, Sinner needs to take this one.

The Italian is the more consistent of the two players, both on tour and in individual matches, but it is Alcaraz who has won three of their last four meetings and who is looking to win his third consecutive Wimbledon title.

So victory for Sinner on this surface will be some achievement and will provide this new rivalry with its latest twist.

14:10 CET - World number one Jannik Sinner will be hoping to avenge last month's heartbreaking French Open final defeat to Carlos Alcaraz, with the Italian hunting a maiden Wimbledon crown.

Sinner coasted through the opening three rounds at the All England Club this year, but was incredibly fortunate when his fourth-round opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, retired hurt when leading by two sets to love.

Having survived that scare, the top seed has since outclassed Ben Shelton and Novak Djokovic in straight sets, moving to within one win of a fourth Grand Slam title.

The 22-year-old Spaniard is currently on a career-best winning run of 24 matches and will be hoping to land his sixth Grand Slam crown later today.

What’s more, Alcaraz is looking to become just the fifth male player in the Open Era to win three successive Wimbledon titles (after Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic).
