Jobe Bellingham was sent off for the first time in his Dortmund career as Italy's Serie A continues to cause drama at both ends of the table. Nick Woltemade decided the Tyne-Wear derby with an unfortunate own goal while Aston Villa broke a club record. Here are our Winners and Losers of the weekend!

Loser: Jobe Bellingham

After a difficult start to his time at Borussia Dortmund, Bellingham has developed into an important part of BVB. The Englishman is getting significantly more minutes and is regularly on the pitch for the entire match.

The younger brother of Real star Jude was once again in the starting lineup at Freiburg. However, his match was cut short when he received his first red card for the club.

Bellingham was only partly to blame for the sending off. A short pass from goalkeeper Gregor Kobel put the 20-year-old in trouble. Freiburg's Treu jumped in between them and was subsequently caught.

"I have to see that better, I have to help Jobe," said Kobel afterwards. "In the end, I'm happy to take it, that's okay."

Winner: Inter Milan

On a Serie A matchday in which nobody seemed to want to take the initiative, it was Inter Milan who finally came out on top after 15 games.

A crazy title fight began on Sunday lunchtime with the previous leaders AC Milan. The Rossoneri squandered victory despite leading 2-1 and having the upper hand and had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo. In the afternoon, defending champions Napoli lost 1-0 at Udinese.

In the evening, Inter had everything in their own hands. Goals from DFB international Yann Aurel Bisseck and star striker Lautaro Martínez gave them a 2-1 win at Genoa. With 33 points and three wins in a row, they are one point ahead of city rivals AC. Napoli are another point behind.

Loser: Nick Woltemade

The Tyne-Wear derby is one of the most historic derbies in England. Sunderland and Newcastle first met in a competitive match back in 1888. Numerous intense matches followed before the 158th clash was played on Sunday afternoon.

The match had few highlights and both teams struggled to create high-calibre chances. The fact that an own goal decided the match at 1-0 was in keeping with the course of the game.

Immediately after the break, Woltemade tried to clear a cross from ex-Leipzig and Leverkusen player Nordi Mukiele, but headed the ball over Aaron Ramsdale and into the net.

It was the summer signing's first real low point in a Magpies shirt. The striker has scored just once in his last seven games. On top of that, he has one assist - and now an own goal that cost his team a vital point.

Winner: Aston Villa

Aston Villa's performance in this Premier League season has been outstanding. The team from Birmingham already have 33 points this campaign, which puts them third in the table, five points ahead of world champions Chelsea and seven points clear of defending champions Liverpool.

They are even breaking records at the moment. The 3-2 away win at West Ham United - in which they overcame two deficits and benefited from an own goal by former Stuttgart player Konstantinos Mavropanos - was their 10th victory in the last 11 league games.

Loser: Fiorentina

Fiorentina - who reached the Conference League final in 2023 and 2024 and are also represented in the competition this year - are in danger of a catastrophic fall. Sixth in the table in the past Serie A season, they are currently bottom of Italy's top division. On Sunday, they lost their clash against direct rivals Hellas Verona 2-1.

After 15 matches, Fiorentina are still waiting for their first win of the season. It is only the third time in the club's history that they have gone at least 15 games in a row in Serie A without a victory. Previously, this had happened in the 1937/38 and 1970/71 seasons.

Winner: Schalke 04

When Schalke 04 were relegated from the Bundesliga in 2023, the club hoped for a direct return to the top flight, just like two years earlier. However, the reality was very different.

In the first two seasons in the 2nd Bundesliga, the team struggled to stay in the division. In Gelsenkirchen, they had to deal with dark days, but twice they were able to celebrate staying in the league.

This season, the Knappen are heading upwards again. After 16 games, they have 37 points. They have a four-point lead over their closest rivals Elversberg and can already call themselves autumn champions with one game left to play in 2025. They won 1-0 against 1. FC Nurnberg at the weekend and are now unbeaten in five competitive matches.

Loser: Feyenoord

After a fantastic start to the season, Feyenoord have recently lost the plot. They suffered defeats both in Europe and in the league, losing five out of six games. The supposed redemption came at the turn of the month: victories against Telstar and Zwolle.

However, even with the 6-1 win against the Blaufingen side behind them, things do not seem to be going any better for Robin van Persie and his team. During the week there was a 3-4 defeat at FCSB, followed by a 0-2 defeat at Ajax on Sunday.
