The 2026 Winter Olympic Games are into their final few days. On day 14, eight sets of medals will be handed out. At Flashscore, we have picked out three events that you shouldn't miss.

Freestyle skiing: Women's ski cross heats and finals

10:00 CET - Livigno Snow Park

No one knows better than Switzerland's Fanny Smith that ski cross involves plenty of drama. During the 2022 Beijing Winter Games, Smith was demoted to fourth place and Germany’s Daniela Maier promoted to third after judges decided Smith had impeded Maier while battling for position.

She appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), and more than a year after the race, Smith could celebrate her medal with her family at an event in Lausanne.

Now, the 33-year-old is hoping to make the most out of possibly her last shot at Olympic gold at the Milano Cortina Games when the women's skicross event is held on Friday.

Smith again faces Sweden's Sandra Naslund and a strong Canadian team with Marielle Thompson, who won five World Cup races in 2025, and Courtney Hoffos, who finished second at the 2025 World Championships.

The final will be at 13:15 CET.

Biathlon: Men's 15km mass start

14:15 CET - South Tyrol Biathlon Arena (Rasen-Antholz)

The 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic men’s 15km mass start, held in high-altitude Antholz, features 30 top athletes in a five-lap, four-stage shooting showdown.

For a while, the biathlon competitions were overshadowed by Norwegian athlete Sturla Holm Laegreid publicly confessing to cheating on his girlfriend in a live, tearful TV interview just after winning a bronze medal. But now the media frenzy over that admission seems to have died, and sport will again be in focus for the final biathlon competitions.

Based on recent 2025/26 season form and performance in the 15km mass start, major challengers to France's Eric Perrot will include Italy's Tommaso Giacomel, who recently beat him in December 2025, and USA's Campbell Wright, who has matched him on the podium.

Other key contenders will include Norway's powerhouses Johan-Olav Botn, Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen, Sebastian Samuelsson, and Laegreid, as well as home favourite Giacomel.

Ice hockey: Men's semi-finals

16:40 & 21:10 CET - Santa Giulia Ice Hockey Arena (Milan)

Milan's Santa Giulia Ice Hockey Arena will host a blockbuster semi-final doubleheader on Friday, with the two winners advancing to Sunday's final, while the losers will attempt to restore morale in a bronze match on Saturday.

First, tournament favourites Canada take on Finland, before the USA face Slovakia.

It took overtime for both Canada and Finland to secure their spots among the final four, with the Finns still keeping their hopes alive to defend their Olympic gold from the previous Games.

Canada needed a bit of luck in the quarter-finals, as they equalised just minutes before the end and then scored the winner in overtime.

Finland, the defending gold medalists, equalised even later in their quarter-final against Switzerland - just one minute and 12 seconds before the final buzzer.

The USA came through what was, on paper, the toughest quarter-final, edging Sweden 2-1 in overtime. The reigning world champions failed to score at least five goals for only the second time in their last 11 games, but since they won all of those matches, it’s unlikely to bother them much.

Slovakia weren't fazed by a 5-3 loss to Sweden in their final group game, and after a convincing quarter-final win over Germany, they celebrated reaching the Olympic semi-finals for just the third time in their history. They got bronze in 2022 and will hope to do better with a win.
