SC Magdeburg are German handball champions for the fourth time after they managed to draw 30-30 against Flensburg-Handewitt on Thursday night.

After a 30-30 (13-13) draw on Thursday evening against SG Flensburg-Handewitt, Magdeburg can no longer be knocked off the top spot in the Bundesliga with three games remaining. Magdeburg and Magnus Saugstrup thereby reclaimed the trophy from Mathias Gidsel and Fuchse Berlin who won the title last year.

Magdeburg and cup winners Berlin both have another shot at a title this season: the dominant clubs of recent years will face each other in the Champions League Final Four semi-final on 13 June 13 in Cologne. Magdeburg enters the tournament as defending champions.
