There was no stoppage of drama in the National Hockey League (NHL) on Monday night across its 10 games, which saw some incredibly close encounters. Here is a look back at how a couple of them ended.

Nashville Predators 6-5 St. Louis Blues

The Nashville Predators pulled off an incredible comeback, overturning a 5-1 deficit to top the visiting St. Louis Blues 6-5 at home.

After Ryan O'Reilly cancelled out Jake Neighbours' opener, the Blues went on a scoring spree. Pavel Buchnevich put them in front later on in the first period, before he made it 3-1 less than a minute after the restart. Philip Broberg and Colton Parayko then scored 30 seconds apart, making the situation quite difficult for the Preds.

However, following a goaltender change, the hosts started to turn things around. Mike McCarron and Filip Forsberg halved the deficit before the frame concluded. Then, O'Reilly got his second to make it 5-4 with plenty of time left.

Already reeling from the situation, the Blues collapsed under the pressure. Steven Stamkos tied things up with 12:46 left in the game, before netting a second three minutes and nine seconds later, which proved to be the winning goal.

Nashville now move up to three points behind the playoff places in the West. It also saw them go nine points clear of their opponents, who are struggling and desperately need to go on a run.

Dallas Stars 4-3 Winnipeg Jets (OT)

Put to the test at home, the Dallas Stars defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 in overtime to win their fifth straight game. It took Jason Robertson 48 seconds to put the hosts in front following a scoreless opening 20 minutes.

The lead did not last long, though, as Gabriel Vilardi restored parity less than two minutes later. Cole Perfetti turned the Jets' fortunes around, putting them ahead. They would not survive the period with the advantage, with Nils Lundkvist finding the back of the net.

This back-and-forth contest took another turn midway through the third, when Mikko Rantanen put Dallas back in the lead. Just as they thought they would pick up a key relegation-time win, Winnipeg responded. Logan Stanley made the most of his chance to make it 3-3.

Overtime was needed, where the Stars were able to feed off the home crowd's support. It would turn out to be a happy ending for those in attendance when Thomas Halery ended the game two minutes in with a goal.

The Stars are now a point behind the Minnesota Wild for second place in the West, having rattled off five on the spin. The Jets' hopes of making the playoffs took another hit with this defeat. They are nine points out of eighth place.
