Danish international Jonas Wind, from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, will be ruled out for an extended period after suffering a new muscle injury during training, said coach Dieter Hecking at a press conference on Thursday.

"It doesn't look good for Jonas Wind. Jonas Wind is out for a long time as he has again suffered a muscle injury", he said, according to Wolfsburg's X profile.

The Danish striker has been plagued by injuries, and it was not more than a month ago that he returned to full fitness after a lengthy period out.

In November, he had surgery on an injured thigh muscle, and he is again affected by it, according to media, Wolfsburger Allgemeine.

Wind scored his first goal in 330 days when he got on the scoreboard against Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend.

This season, Wind has made 11 appearances for crisis-hit Wolfsburg, who are in danger of relegation from the German Bundesliga.
